hand made guitars by michael ayers
My creations, the “Green Meany”, has a neck through design, made from hard rock maple. The body is made of alder capped with ¼ “spalted maple veneer on the front and back. I'm thinking that a set of fender noiseless pickups would sound great.
The "Solid Rock", has Grover tuners on a Gibson styled head stock and a bolt on mahogany neck, the fret board has medium size frets. The alder body is painted with an imitation rock finish, dual vintage black and white Humbucking pickups and a tuneomatic bridge.
The "Big Leaf", has a unique Gumby styled head stock with Grover tuners. The set neck design is made from hard rock maple with jumbo frets. The alder body is capped with big leaf ¼” maple veneer on the front and back, the back also has walnut inlays. It has one Armstrong dual coiled styled pickup.
The” Big Smoothie", has: a unique head stock with Grover inline tuners, a bolt on hard rock maple neck, Paduak fret board and jumbo frets. The alder body is capped with ¼ “spalted maple and has paduak inlays on the sides. Access to the electronics is through the lower side of the guitar. Three mighty might pickups consist of one dual coil and two singles.
The "Cat", has a thin head stock with Grover tuners, a laminated neck through the body design made of a hard rock maple center and black walnut sides. The fret board is paduak with medium frets. The body is made from alder. It has a tele neck pickup and a black and tanned dual coiled Carven 22 pole pickup.
The "Flame" has a stubby head stock with black inline tuners, a hard rock neck through the Alder body design and hand painted flames. It is capped off on the front and back with spalted and flame maple with paduak inlays along with one Armstrong pickup.
The "Hemlock" was made to be used mostly as a lap guitar; however it feels very comfortable when played with a strap. The weight of the guitar is fairly heavy. The head stock and neck are made from five pieces of wood. The center piece is maple and the oak is then layered between the maple center and the maple exterior. The head stock is short with Grover tuners and the fret board is Paduak with medium frets. The Hemlock body and neck are completely laminated. One Seymour Duncan dual pickup is placed by the bridge.
The "Vixen”, has inline tuners on a tele styled head stock. The neck is a bolt on made from maple and the fret board is rosewood. The body is one piece of swamp ash. The body has been routed for a dual coil pick up. There is a Roland Gk- 2A midi controller in the wing tip.
